Winterlake Farm strives to produce athletic sport animals with kind, willing temperaments. With each match of mare and stallion, the goal is to produce free movement with suspension, trainability, correct conformation and an overall beautiful animal ready to be a success in the discipline of your choice and to be your best friend. The purebred and crossbred Welsh finish between 14 hh and 16 hh. Videos and more photos are available.

Winterlake Ultimate Jacque Born June 13, 2008
Jacque could be your next super performance steed. As his name implies, he's a 'jock' and he shows great promise under saddle in dressage or eventing. He moves fluidly with extension and suspension, is highly trainable, and is a kind and respectful boy. In late July he began carrying a saddle, being lightly longed at the walk, trot, halt, and has taken to long lining and ground driving. He loads, stands for a bath, and travels and works well without other horses around. He has been well handled since birth and was ponied on the trail as a yearling. He was perfect going through water and over wooden bridges. He's currently seesawing to his finished height that I estimate will be at least 14.3. He's now 14 1/2 hh at the wither and 14.2 at the top of his croup. Pictured in August 2010, new video is coming. $6,500

Winterlake Xaniah Part-bred Sport Filly
Coco delivered her first foal, a beautiful filly on April 28. "Niah" has the advantage of Cardi and Coco's sweet temperament, beautiful legs and dressagey movement. Yes, she's got 'it'. Her head is boxy and "pony"; her dark eyes seek you out from under her thick black lashes. Joints are enormous and this little Miss moves effortlessly and seems destined to get some size close to Coco's 15.2 hh. She will garner her share of blue ribbons. With a perfect star and no other white, her dorsal stripe may be invisible as she is shedding to be a very dark smutty color. $10,000
Winterlake Vera Wang purebred Welsh Cob Filly
Stagecoach Chloe [*Tuscany Aramus x Hastening Eclipse] has produced an exceptional filly by Cardi. By doubling up on the Hastening lines [Cardi's dam is a full sis to Hastening Eclipse] I feel as though Vera has exceeded my expectations. She has the 'it' factor with a trot that will garner oooohs and ahhhhhs--knee and reach. Her markings are almost identical to her dam: narrow blaze, two hind socks, and some ermine markings above the coronet band on the right fore. Cardi's trademark shoulder has given her a tremendous front end. With her dam's uphill powerful movement from behind, there is nothing this precocious friendly filly won't be able to accomplish. $11,500
Prospects for 2011
Foal by Cardi out of Unforgettable
This first-time cross of 'Gretta' with Cardi is very exciting. A registered Dutch mare, Gretta is a modern athletic type of elegance and size. Foal is due early April.
Foal by Cardi out of Rose Lane Victoria
After producing the spectacular 'Versace' last year, this mating was inevitable. The strong Nebo and Tardibigge lines of Toria blended perfectly; we expect another super athlete from these two. Foal is due late in April.
Foal by Cardi out of Bro A Brynn Serennu
This is the first mating of Cardi and Serennu and will result in a purebred Welsh Cob. With Serennu's type, movement and temperament, this is a much-anticipated baby, due in early May.
Foal by Cardi out of Coco Chanel
This was such a great cross this year that Coco has been put in foal for a full sibling to Winterlake Xaniah. Xaniah is showing great promise as a mid-15 hh performance prospect. We definitely want more of this Cardi/Thoroughbred cross and will get it when Coco foals in April in 2011.
Foal by Cardi out of Stagecoach Chloe
Stagecoach Chloe has been rebred to Cardi for another foal. I am so thrilled with Vera, this year's filly, I would like to continue producing this line of super athletic, kind and bold babies.

Bocelli AF 2009 Black Weser Ems Gelding
Super Fancy 2009 Black Weser Ems colt with tasteful chrome. Bocelli strongly reflects his sire's character, temperament and outstanding movement - earning a premium award at his Weser-Ems inspection with many compliments over his type and ground covering elastic movement with much suspension. Bocelli’s dam, Mimosa, is a gorgeous MMB GOV/Weser-Ems Trakehner/Arab mare that herself shows considerable talent, rideability and outstanding work ethic, and currently is back in training in her own progression towards FEI levels. Mimosa’s sire line descends from the famed Trakehner stallion, Marduc, renown in Europe for the success of his progeny at FEI levels. Her direct sire, Happy Hour, was imported from Denmark, a son of Induc who was the Bundeschampionat as a 4 year old and received the highest evaluation marks on rideablity and movement, ranging for 9.0 – 10.0. Bocelli is an excellent combination of both his sire and dam's outstanding qualities with an undeniable presence all his own plus breath-taking movement. He has sweet, inquisitive temperament, a true pocket pony character that loves attention. A quick learner, Bocelli always demonstrates his generous nature when handled. He will be an outstanding prospect for either professional or amateur to develop - will likely mature small horse, but will be the ultimate sport horse ride or drive with his huge elastic movement. Chica Bonita CFP
This bay filly will be an amateur's/junior's dream. Incredible temperament, personality plus. Chica loves to be groomed and handled and moves uphill with suspension and expression. The Welsh Cob X Tb has been a well known successful cross in Europe for many years and produces athletic, balanced individuals that excel in many disciplines. Dam Mischka was shown in lower level eventing successfully before coming to Cottage Farm. She then turned to dressage for two seasons, winning at Training to 2nd level at recognized shows with scores in the mid to high 60s before becoming a broodmare. She is one of the nicest horses in temperament and trainability I have ever owned and she passes these traits on to her babies. Chica is tractable and trainable with lovely gaits, correct conformation and THE BEST personality!
Reg Half- Welsh and eligible Weser-Ems, ASPR & RPSI. Health issues forces quick sale; otherwise, this filly would be priced much higher. $9500 Contact chicarette@gmail.com, located in Florida

Winterlake Juliet (North Forks Prince George x Okeden Jolly)
Sold May 2009 to Edie Gwan, Palo Alto, California. Thank you for loving Juliet as you do and giving her such a fabulous life.
From Edie: “I absolutely adore Juliet and am so grateful she came into my life! She's so willing and fun to ride. I'm always impressed with her wonderful attitude. Today we rode a bit in the arena (practicing our dressage, at which I think she's doing quite well), and then we joined a bunch of friends and went out on the trail for an hour. It was so relaxing and pleasant, we were on the buckle the whole way, and she gets along great with all the horses. No problem being first, last, or in the middle. This Friday we're starting up a Quadrille team! And I think Juliet will enjoy it. I'm thinking of doing a little really low jumping with her (like 2 feet). I think she'd enjoy it as cross training. She has lots of fans at the Ranch. People think she looks like a mini warmblood and keep asking me what breed she is, but I think she looks like a fabulous Cob :-) I love the feathers and her pony head and gorgeous tail and soft eyes. She's a super representative of her breed."
